The Lipovenesc yard: a traditional homestead in Jurilovca
We want a village like in the old days, like the one our grandparents’ grandparents knew, where we can enjoy nature and the traditions passed down from generation to generation.
Plan a visitSee the eventsA traditional homestead in the heart of Jurilovca
The Lipovenesc yard is a traditional homestead in Jurilovca, on the shore of the Razim-Sinoe lagoon complex, at the edge of the Danube Delta. Time moves more slowly here: the old house from 1893, the animals used to children and the vegetable garden.
The house was restored with the materials of old times: adobe, wood and reed. The bricks were made by friends at the adobe building bee in 2020 and 2021, and the adobe house has even hosted at its table the Royal Family.
Who you will meet in the homestead
In the yard, children and adults can touch, feed and get to know the animals up close.
Alpacas
Piciu, Nino and Mexi are the stars of the yard. They love apples cut into cubes, and they don’t spit.
Pony and donkeys
Bamby the pony (a mini Shetland) and the donkeys Rita and Luna are gentle and love to be stroked and fed carrots.
Goats and kids
Oana the goat gives us milk every day and would happily be stroked all day long. The goats Oana, Nadia, Ema and Kozel are crazy about cabbage.
Chickens and ducks
The Japanese silkie chickens parade around the yard, and the runner ducks and geese complete the picture.
Luța Mieluța the sheep
Her name is Luța Mieluța and she is Piciu’s best friend.
Dogs and cats
Aki, the English setter, is a big fan of children. Beto wants to be stroked non-stop, and the newest arrival, Piki, can’t even jump the fence, so you will hear him asking you to open a gate for him. The house cats are happy to be stroked too.
